The authors, Dr. Marilyn Delevante and Anthony Alberga are the children of Verna Henriques and Lionel Alberga.
Dr Delevante was the Senior Medical Officer of Health for Kingston and St. Andrew up until her retirement in 1990. She attended St. Hilda's High School in St. Ann, Jamaica and then Glasgow University, Scotland where she obtained her MBChB in medicine. In 1975 she obtained an honours degree in Public Health from the University of the West Indies. She still resides in Jamaica.
Anthony Alberga was educated at Jamaica College and Glasgow University where he graduated BSc in Engineering. He was at first involved in the family business and then set up a property development company in Kingston. He was the founder chairman of the Airports Authority of Jamaica. He and his family emigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1976 and has since been running his property investment company.
The cover photograph of the book shows their late mother with her parents and two of her siblings.
