The history of the Jews in Jamaica is a l-o-n-g story! But it is a fascinating one "of struggle, adaptation, change, accommodation, assimilation and sometimes another migration." I've gone over the book in detail and I have to tell you that this is a treasure!
There is now no need for me to go into detail with folk on the subject. I will just refer them to the book.

Just to tell you how much we're enjoying the history which you and Tony have written; a fascinating and impressive story, excellently told, and beautifully presented! Thanks to you the names of the Alberga, Delevante, Henriques families - and many many others will be deservedly remembered for generations to come.

I must first of all congratulate you and your brother on what I recognise as the patient and painsting gathering of information. Next I admire the informal style that made it such an 'easy' , interesting and informative read. I think this is some of the important history of Jamaica that every Jamaican should know.

On a personal note, the information takes me back to my childhood; my father did business with merchants in Kingston which you mentioned - Brandons, deCordova, Kingston Industrial Garage are four that come immediately to mind.
